August's Edition

A little stardust, science, and art.

Starsprite Mail Club

Delivering a little bit of wonder from the starry night sky to your personal mailbox.

The Inspiration

I started Starsprite to provide a physical archive of my love for science and art, and it is a whimsical mail club for curious minds. August is the very first edition dropping, and I would love it if you joined us! I also wanted to explain a little bit about the motivation behind creating this club.

Throughout history, stars have been a symbol of hope, guidance, and endless possibility. Humans have wished upon shooting stars, navigated oceans by constellations, and looked up to the sky for comfort during uncertain times.

I think a line from Stuart Clark's book 'Beneath the Night' explains this sentiment perfectly:

"Shakespeare saw the same stars in the same patterns as we do. So did Galileo, Columbus, Joan of Arc, Cleopatra, and the first man-ape to look up in curiosity. From space age back to the stone age, to be beneath the night is to witness something that every other human who has ever lived has also seen. It is our common heritage."

- Stuart Clark, Beneath the Night

Looking up at the stars makes me feel incredibly small and incredibly capable. Small in that I am just one of the billions of people who have looked up to the night sky, but capable in that every scientist, artist, and dreamer I admire has stood beneath the same stars. If they were able to chase their dreams, then maybe you, and I, can as well. Each month, I hope these envelopes bring joy to your mailbox and remind you to stay curious.

This print club is also a promise to myself. After finishing my bachelor's degree, I hope to pursue a PhD along the intersection of Aerospace Engineering and Physics. I know it is going to be a long journey filled with setbacks and successes, and I hope to share those experiences with you along the way.
